Buenas tardes, Café Bueno fans. We hope you’re having a nice weekend.

Recently. you might notice a difference in our main menu. We shaved it down a bit.

Our move to a larger location has been amazing in many ways, but one of the struggles for our kitchen is the sheer volume of sauces we have been making from scratch. Our menu has a lot of sauces, and each one involves soaking various chile peppers, chopping, cooking, and roasting veggies, blending and cooling the sauces, and none of them has any shelf life, since they don’t have any preservatives. So that means each one is made fresh every day in high volume. And that’s just the sauces.

We thought about changing the recipes to make them easier or faster to make, and there are a lot of shortcut options we could do. Our beans could be canned instead of fresh, our rice could be instant, we could buy canned tomatoes instead of fresh, etc. In the end though, we decided to offer a simpler main menu.

Nothing will be completely gone; we will keep everything coming back around on our specials board!
